This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
So, it's only been a year since my last journal update. Wow! There's so much new!
Wait, I did this last year... a trip to sacramento/sanfrancisco for Christmas. I can usually get in my obligatory family time on the trip from the airport to my brother's house. Don't think I'm crass - its a good hour and half drive! I got to hear how well my joke the year before turned out: as I was stepping into the terminal to come back home, I yelled to my brother, "I hope that child molester charge comes out okay" as I turned the corner. Apparently the assumed guilt of people condemning him with their eyes stuck with him for over year. I don't keep score, but if I did...
It occurs to me that I've used a lot of DA as an escapist effort. Seconds? I think of the people that have seen my DA page... only one of them I know from real life.
And the new images have been collectively called "Prepositions San Fransisco." The missing the preposition from the title was something of an accident, but I'll keep it. The shots weren't very inspired. The sister-in-law that went on the trip pointed out the craptacular pictures in the lodge we stayed at and looked to me to say "man, this park sure has inspired a lot of bad art." Thus, my goal - don't get inspired b/c it'll make bad art. When I'm 80 and dying, I'll write a book with quirky sayings I kept near my heart, "just remember kids, don't get inspired b/c you'll make crap."
After a week of the family, I went back to San Fransisco on my own for a night thinking I'll shoot the street. Instead, on mostly separate occasions, I met a Norwegian, a German, and Frenchman, and a chap and a lady from the UK. I got back into that "college guy learning the ways of the world" mode. I completely forgot the camera around my neck. Its odd because I have a pretty vivid handful of images in my head from night, but it wasn't like I was looking for way light fell through the bars' windows... The night was interesting and very surreal yet relaxing.
I described the night to my brother as he drove me back to the airport. He said he's had similar nights in San Francisco. I wondered if this would be city I called home in the future. Would I find happiness by setting down the camera once-in-a-while and just living? Then, my brother yells out to me as he waves good-bye, "I hope security doesn't find the pot stuffed in your ass," as I rounded the corner to security.
